چکیده

Pyogenic liver abscess is a condition with considerable mortality. The common etiology of liver abscesses after chemotherapy is fungi, especially candida albicans, and gram-positive bacteria. However, little is known about gram-positive bacterial infection as the cause of pyogenic liver abscess. In this study we reviewed our experiences with the use of daptomycin for the treatment of gram-positive bacteria caused pyogenic liver abscess in 5 patients with malignant hematological diseases. For these immunodeficiency patients, infectious pathogens are usually difficult to be identified. Gram-positive pathogens as a cause of pyogenic hepatic abscesses can be effectively and timely controlled by daptomycin.
